1. Call for papers: Post Hegemonic International Law? (Zurych, listopad 2025 r.)

W dniach 28-29 listopada br. w Zurychu odbędzie się konferencja pt. "Post Hegemonic International Law?".

Wystąpienia mogą dotyczyć następujących tematów:

• Challenges brought by war: Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law: Examining the impact of recent conflicts (whether Non-International Armed Conflict or International Armed Conflict) on human rights protections and the role of international law in conflict resolution.
• Environment and Climate Change: Addressing legal responses to global environmental challenges, including climate justice, sustainable development, and transboundary pollution.
• International Trade: Analyzing the legal frameworks governing trade disputes, global economic cooperation, and the impact of trade wars.
• Modern Technologies and International Law: Exploring the legal implications of cyberattacks, digital privacy, data market, and data sovereignty in the context of international law.
• Migration and Refugee Law: Understanding the legal challenges posed by migration crises and the protection of refugees under international law.
• History of International Law: The role of history for understanding the origins and development of a post-hegemonic international law. Equally, looking in the past could lead us to find patterns or contradictions that we find in today’s international law’s reasoning.
• International Criminal Law: In the face of the conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine, is there hope for prosecuting the most serious crimes? What are the prospects and challenges?
• Violation of international law, international Courts, and the changing nature of international dispute resolution.

Zgłoszenia (abstrakt do 400 słów) należy przesyłać do 1 lipca.

2. Call for papers: The principle of good faith in International and European Union Law (Ferrara, grudzień 2025 r.)

W dniach 4-5 grudnia br. w Ferrarze odbędzie się konferencja pt. "The principle of good faith in International and European Union Law". Zaproszenie do udziału w wydarzeniu jest skierowane do doktorantów i osób do 5 lat po uzyskaniu doktoratu.

Wystąpienia mogą dotyczyć następujących zagadnień:

- The principle of good faith and international litigation

- The principle of good faith and unilateral acts

- The role of good faith in international investment law

- The importance of good faith in peace negotiations and national reconciliation

processes

- The principle of good faith in sustainable environmental development

- Good faith in refugee law and the treatment of migrants

- The protection of bona fide purchasers and the restitution of stolen cultural

property

- Good faith and strategic litigation

- Business, human rights, and good faith

- Good faith and the abuse of the anchor defendant rule

- Good faith and fraude à la loi

- The principle of good faith and the duty of sincere cooperation between the EU

Call for papers: Konferencja międzynarodowa: Konwencja ramowa w prawie międzynarodowym (online, 9 maja 2025)

Instytut na rzecz Nauk o Życiu, Środowisku i Klimacie ma zaszczyt zaprosić Państwa do udziału w Międzynarodowej Konferencji Naukowej "Konwencja ramowa w prawie międzynarodowym".

Jakkolwiek koncepcja „konwencji ramowej” jest stosunkowo nowym rozwiązaniem w prawie międzynarodowym, to myśl o podobnych rozwiązaniach od dłuższego jest obecna w doktrynie prawa międzynarodowego. Już Hugo Grocjusz zauważał, że istnieją „(…) umowy, zawarte w granicach władzy zwierzchniej o większym lub mniejszym zakresie (…)”

W 33. rocznicę przyjęcia Ramowej konwencji Narodów Zjednoczonych w sprawie zmian klimatu dążąc do upamiętnienia tego ważnego dla całej ludzkości wydarzenia, chcemy zachęcić krajowe i zagraniczne środowiska naukowe do rozważań nad miejscem konwencji ramowej w prawie międzynarodowym publicznym.

Chociaż Ramowa konwencja Narodów Zjednoczonych w sprawie zmian klimatu jest niezaprzeczalnie pierwszą konwencją ramową o tak szerokim zasięgu stworzyła pewne wzory rozwiązań prawnych dla innych aktów prawa międzynarodowego o charakterze ramowym.

1. Call for applications: Summer Course on Global Law (Haga, czerwiec/lipiec 2025 r.)

W dniach 30 czerwca- 4 lipca br. w w Hadze odbędzie się Summer School "Leiden-Edinburgh Global Law: Public Interest Dispute Resolution and Advocacy". Zaproszenie do udziału w kursie jest skierowane zarówno do praktyków, jak i do badaczy prawa międzynarodowego.

Opłata za udział w Summer School wynosi 1200 euro.

Zgłoszenia należy przesyłać do 31 maja.

2. Call for applications: 10th Summer School in EU External Relations Law (Bruksela, czerwiec 2025 r.)

W dniach 23-25 czerwca br. w Brukseli odbędzie się po raz 10. Summer School in EU External Relations Law. Zaproszenie do udziału w kursie skierowane jest zarówno do studentów, jak i praktyków zajmujących się prawem, naukami politycznymi lub stosunkami międzynarodowymi.

Opłata za udział w wydarzeniu wynosi od 150 euro do 650 euro (w zależności od statusu uczestnika). Dla studentów przewidziano 6 stypendiów, znoszących wszystkie opłaty, pod warunkiem przesłania zgłoszenia do 31 maja.

3. Call for papers: Oceanic Echoes: Unveiling the Genocide-Maritime Connection, Sea by Sea (wrzesień 2025 r.)

W dniu 19 września br. w trybie hybrydowym odbędą się warsztaty pt. "Oceanic Echoes: Unveiling the Genocide-Maritime Connection, Sea by Sea".

Wystąpienia mogą dotyczyć m.in. następujących zagadnień:

- Human-created environmental destruction/disasters and their impact on insular and coastal

populations

- Historical legacies of the maritime dimensions of colonialism and/or enslavement

- Issues relating to the plight of refugees/forced migrants at sea

- Limits of the ‘genocide’ concept when addressing ocean-related harm

- Non-Western cosmologies (and their marginalisation) concerning the human-ocean relationship

- Problems of anthropocentrism when addressing harm related to the more-than-human context

of the ocean

- Reparations and Justice in Oceanic Contexts

- Indigenous Sovereignty and Ocean Governance

- Ocean-Related Infrastructural Development and the Displacement of Coastal Communities

Zgłoszenia (abstrakt do 500 słów i biogram do 150 słów) należy przesyłać do 7 maja.
