1. Call for papers: Chemical and Biological Weapons: The Interconnectivity of Norms (Gieβen, październik 2023 r.)

W dniach 23-24 października br. odbędzie się konferencja "Chemical and Biological Weapons: The Interconnectivity of Norms". Wydarzenie będzie dotyczyć dwóch problemów:

• Multinormativity of the chemical and biological weapons regimes: The normative regimes against biological and chemical weapons consist of a wide variety of rules, with differing normative value. Both hard law as well as soft law have been shown to be influential in combating chemical and biological weapons. This section will therefore focus on the interaction between different types of norms and their potential to influence and shape each other.
• Multilevel functionality of the regimes against chemical and biological weapons: The interplay between the different levels of regulation international, regional, national, to sub-statelevel - of the biological and chemical weapons regimes has hardly been studied so far. However, there are apparent interactions between these different levels of regulation. Contributions in this section could look at the interplay between the different levels of regulation both from a ‘top-down’ approach as well as from a ‘bottom-up’ approach.

2. Call for papers: International Conference "The African Renaissance in the Age of Globalization. What Role for International Investment Law?" (Padua, listopad 2023 r.)

W dniach 10-11 listopada br. odbędzie się międzynarodowa konferencja "The African Renaissance in the Age of Globalization. What Role for International Investment Law?"

Wystąpienia mogą dotyczyć zwłaszcza następujących tematów:

• Permanent sovereignty over natural resources;
• Protection of foreign investments during or in the aftermath of the pandemic;
• Police powers doctrine and investments in Africa;
• Promoting foreign investments in the African health sector;
• Intellectual property and technology transfer in international investment law;
• Protecting African traditional knowledge in the investment context;
• Protecting African geographical indications;
• Investing in African agriculture;
• Digitizing microfinance loans in Africa: Investing in Women Transforming Lives;
• Investing in African Cultural Heritage.

Zgłoszenia (abstrakt do 500 słów wraz z CV) należy przesyłać do 15 lipca br.

Organizatorzy pokrywają koszty zakwaterowania i podroży.

Planowana jest publikacja pokonferencyjna.
