W dniach 19-20 czerwca br. na uniwersytecie w Lüneburg odbędą się warsztaty dla młodych naukowców pt. "International Courts and Tribunals: Interactions and Challenges".
Wystąpienia mogą dotyczyć przykładowo następujących tematów:
- How do international courts and tribunals seek to cope with growing caseloads and increased public scrutiny? Are their procedures (including provisional measures, intervention, advisory proceedings) in need of reform?
- Are international courts and tribunals able to assess complex fact-patterns? If not, how could their fact-finding capacity be improved?
- Are the methods for selecting judges and arbitrators appropriate?
- Do different international courts and tribunals interact with each other, and if so how? Should they collaborate more, and if so, how?
- How can we assess the impact of international courts and tribunals on international disputes? Does resort to binding dispute settlement affect conduct on the ground? What is the role of concepts such as bindingness, compliance and/or authority?
- Have recent cases ushered in a golden age of international courts and tribunals?

W dniu 30 czerwca br. na Uniwersytecie w w Wiedniu odbędą się Work-In-Progress-Workshop “Migration Law in Times of Polarization”.
Wystąpienia mogą dotyczyć m.in. następujących zagadnień:
• How do recent developments in law and politics impact the international movement of people and its effects on migrants and the societies of origin and destination? Which role do right-wing populism and authoritarianism play?
• What are the economic, legal, and infrastructural conditions shaping current global migration trends?
• Which role do cross-border migration networks and private actors play in migration processes? How do they affect migrants’ agency?
• What are the new challenges brought about by climate change and geopolitical shifts?
• Which novel challenges do various practices of cooperation and externalization of responsibilities pose?
• What standards need to be met to provide adequate international protection?
• What is the role of the law in promoting an inclusive society?
• How does law shape the understanding of belonging in migration societies?
• What is the role of citizenship law and the rights of migrants to participate?
• What is the significance of social practices of inclusion such as empowerment, representation, and education, as opposed to practices of exclusion, including discrimination and racism?
