Aleksandra Mężykowska członkiem zarządu Rejestru Szkód Ukrainy!

 Z przyjemnością i dumą informujemy, że nasza redakcyjna koleżanka Aleksandra Mężykowska została członkiem Rejestru Szkód Ukrainy (Register of Damage for Ukraine) powołany został na podstawie rozszerzonego porozumienia częściowego zawartego w ramach Rady Europy - Resolution CM/Res(2023)3 establishing the Enlarged Partial Agreement on the Register of Damage Caused by the Aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine (zobacz tu). 

Obecnie uczestnikami i członkami Rejestru są 43 państwa (w tym spoza Europy: USA, Kanada, Japonia) i Unia Europejska. 

Rejestr jest pierwszym elementem całościowego mechanizmu kompensacyjnego dla Ukrainy, na który składać się będą także komisja ds. roszczeń oraz fundusz kompensacyjny. Rolą Rejestru będzie zgromadzenie roszczeń od osób indywidualnych, prawnych, ale też Ukrainy i podległych jednostek (w tym władz regionalnych, lokalnych, itp.) oraz państwowych firm ukraińskich.

Członkami Zarządu Rejestru zostali: Yulia Kyrpa (Ukraina), Norbert Wühler (Niemcy), Chiara Giorgetti (Włochy), Robert Spano (Islandia), Veijo Heiskanen (Finlandia), Lucy Reed (USA) i Aleksandra Mężykowska (Polska).
Siedzibą Rejestru będzie Haga.

W dniach 15-16 sierpnia 2024 r. w Hsinchu (Tajwan) odbędzie się 9th Annual Conference of the Asian Privacy Scholars Network "Dialogue Between International Law and Comparative Law in Data Governance".
Wystąpienia mogą dotyczyć m.in. następujących tematów:
- Laws and policies of data collection, storage, sharing, and analysis and their implications.
- The intricate balance of data protection, privacy, free speech, reputation, and platform governance within domestic legal frameworks.
- Implications of international trade and/or human rights agreements on domestic realms of privacy, data protection, content moderation, platform governance, and AI governance

- Comparative insights into data governance models across Asia-Pacific nations.

Studia doktoranckie z prawa na European University Institute we Florencji

European University Institute we Florencji prowadzi aktualnie rekrutacje na czteroletnie studia doktoranckie z zakresu nauk społecznych i politycznych, prawa, ekonomii oraz historii. Zakwalifikowane osoby otrzymują stypendium przez cały okres trwania programu (1.602 euro/miesięcznie), same zaś studia na EUI są bezpłatna. Stypendyści są również objęci ubezpieczeniem medycznym oraz mogą korzystać z dodatkowych świadczeń dla członków rodziny (małżonka, dziecka). Polska dysponuje co roku 10 miejscami dla nowych doktorantów (z czego 2-3 przyznawane są młodym prawnikom). 

Termin składania wniosków o przyjęcie na studia doktoranckie upływa 31 stycznia 2024 r. (rok akademicki 2024/2025).

European Journal of International Law zaprasza do przesyłania tekstów do numeru specjalnego pt. "The Hague Academy: A Centenary of Scholarship".
Artykuły mogą dotyczyć m.in. następujących zagadnień:
  • a favourite course or author that has set the tone of or significantly contributed to a field of international law or even to a career;
  • a forgotten course that left a lasting impression on the reviewer and should be read more widely;

1. Call for papers: Common Interests and Common Spaces: Institutional Approaches to Dispute Settlement (Haga, grudzień 2023 r.)
W dniu 13 grudnia 2023 r. w Hadze odbędą się warsztaty "Common Interests and Common Spaces: Institutional Approaches to Dispute Settlement".
Organizatorzy w szczególności czekają na wystąpienia, które:
  • examine judicial as well as quasi-judicial or non-judicial institutional approaches to the settlement of international disputes involving common or shared interests;
  • revisit conceptions of the judicial function of international courts as, on the one hand, facilitators of the peaceful resolution of disputes and, on the other, guardians of justice as a public good;
  • critically evaluate formal and informal modes of participation in dispute settlement or compliance proceedings involving public interests, or consider questions of legal standing in this context; and/or
  • articulate visions for the future of dispute settlement and institutional supervision regarding common interests or spaces, or frame the values which may underlie the creation or effective use of such institutions.
