1. Call for papers: What Truth? Evidence as Politics in Human Rights Courts (Tarragona, wrzesień 2026 r.)
W dniach 7-9 września 2026 r. w Tarragonie odbędzie się konferencja pt. "What Truth? Evidence as Politics in Human Rights Courts".
Wystąpienia mogą dotyczyć m.in. następujących zagadnień:

1. Should the pursuit of factual truth be considered an essential function of human rights adjudication? Why/why not? 
2. How are the various adjudicatory institutions studied approaching truth-seeking? What factors may account for divergences in their approaches? 
3. How do jurisprudential tools—evidentiary concepts, rules or principles—facilitate the establishment of the true facts of cases? Can such tools also serve to suppress factual truth? 
4. What role do extra-legal—social, political, historical, cultural, economic, organisational, etc.—factors play in the evidentiary processes studied? 
5. Truth being multi-dimensional, which of its many possible facets—as, e.g., objective or subjective, forensic or impressionistic, whole or partial, procedural or substantive, personal or collective—should concern human rights adjudication? 
6.  How do various understandings of truth interact and compete in actual proceedings? 
7.  Given the many deceptions that enter some proceedings, would it be useful to think of evidence in human rights adjudication as a Foucauldian regime of truth as well as one of falsity? 
8.  Does our post-truth era of ‘unknowers’ and epistemic distrust lend increased saliency to the above questions?

Zgłoszenia (abstrakt do 300 słów i biogram do 150 słów) należy przesyłać do 22 grudnia.
Opłata konferencyjna wynosi 150 euro, ale można ubiegać się o jej zniesienie lub grant podróżny.

W dniu 22 maja 2026 r. w Leuven odbędzie się konferencja pt. "Revisiting the ECHR: A Closer Look at Calls for Change".
Wystąpienia mogą dotyczyć zwłaszcza następujących tematów:
• Dialogue between the ECtHR and national authorities 

• The asserted need to reform the ECHR and its judicial machinery 

 • The different possibilities and mechanisms to revisit the interpretation of the ECHR 

• The role of different actors in driving change at the Court 

 • (Supranational) separation of powers 

• The promise and limits of evolutive interpretation 

• ECHR and migration 

• The role of the ECHR within international migration law 

• Tensions between the ECHR and particular states
