Ze względu na krótkie terminy publikujemy informację na stronie głównej bloga:

UNESCO and the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights of the University of Oxford will soon be launching a global free Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for judicial actors, to promote international and regional standards on freedom of expression and the safety of journalists.

To that effect, we are pleased to share with you an official letter of invitation (attached), signed by UNESCO’s Chief of the Freedom of Expression and Safety of Journalists’ Section, Guilherme Canela, and by the Director of the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights, Kate O’Regan. We have also included a flyer with relevant information on the MOOC.

In order to give this endeavor a global scope, we would be grateful if you could please share this information as well as the flyer attached with your network of judicial actors and on your social media accounts.

This free, five-week online course will run from the weeks of the 10 May until the 07 June 2021, with the possibility of completing the course until the 30 June 2021.

The 5 modules will cover:

  1. The General Principles and Scope of Freedom of Expression;
  2. Limitations on Freedom of Expression;
  3. The Right of Access to Information;
  4. The Safety of Journalists;
  5. Challenges created by the Digital World.

The course will be led by experts in the field of human rights and freedom of expression, and will include high-level guest speakers such as UN Special Rapporteurs, judges from regional human rights courts, prosecutors, and human rights lawyers.

At the end of the course, a certificate of completion will be issued for participants who have completed the modules.
