W związku z konferencją ESIL, która odbędzie się w Utrechcie, 30 sierpnia lub 1 września br. International Business and Human Rights Interest Group organizuje warsztaty pt. "IN/EX-clusiveness through the lens of International Business and Human Rights".
Wystąpienia mogą odpowiadać na następujące pytania:
- To what extent corporations have an international legal personality?
- Do soft law instruments in international business and human rights (IBHR) impact on the in/exclusiveness of international law?
- Does the due diligence obligation reflect the inclusiveness and/or exclusiveness of international law?
- What are the emerging trends in terms of sustainability and IBHR?
- How do the in/ex-clusiveness approaches in the interpretation of IBHR’s instruments impact on the protection of human rights?
- Are the available international dispute settlement mechanisms appropriate/suitable to deal with IBHR disputes? Are the proposed alternatives suitable to address the remaining challenges in this area?

2. Call for papers: Connecting social practices to legal outcomes (wrzesień 2022 r., Utrecht)
Także w związku z konferencją ESIL w Utrechcie w dniu 1 września br. Interest Group on the Social Sciences and International Law organizuje spotkanie dotyczące problematyki "Connecting social practices to legal outcomes".
Przedmiotem dyskusji będą następujące zagadnienia:
1. To what extent can we rely on human behaviour and social interactions as determinants of international legal processes and/or predictors of international normative outcomes? What value do they add to the traditional study of norms, principles, and procedures?
2. Whose behaviour and interactions should be studied and how?
3. How can we strengthen the external and internal validity of empirical social studies as applied to the analysis of international law?
4. What are the epistemic challenges and blind spots associated with a given social science-inspired approach to international law?
Osoby zainteresowane przygotowanie krótkich "think pieces" na spotkanie, mogą przesłać ich abstrakt (do 300 słów) do 10 kwietnia br.

3. Call for papers: Symposium on “International Law and Constitution-Making” (Camden, maj 2022 r.)
W dniu 18 maja br. w Camden (New Jersey, USA) odbędzie się konferencja pt. “International Law and Constitution-Making”.
Problematyka konferencji będzie koncentrować się wokół następujących pytań:
- Can international law affect constitution-making processes carried out by sovereign states?
- Should such processes follow international human rights law and international economic law? If so, how?
- Is sovereignty at risk when states cede to international organizations too much power and influence?
Zgłoszenia (abstrakt do 500 słów) należy przesyłać do 1 kwietnia.
