1. Call for papers: The Public-Private Challenge: Innovating Legal and Regulatory Paradigms (Rotterdam, wrzesień 2022 r.)
W dniach 22-23 września br. Erasmus School of Law organizuje konferencję pt. “The Public-Private Challenge: Innovating Legal and Regulatory Paradigms”.
Pytania, na które odpowiedzi mogą zostać udzielone w referatach, to m.in.:
- What is private power, and how can it be directed towards pre-set public goals?
- Is the power of private actors an artefact of the economy that the law can only secondarily regulate? Or is the law itself a key source of private power?
- How should we approach the distinction between public and private interests? Could private interests be conceptualised as a form of public interests? Or is the ‘public’ the antithesis of the ‘private’?
- Can the reconstitution of public power address the challenges discussed above? If so, how can public power be reconstituted in the transnational arena? Alternatively, what role can private power play in public interest projects, such as sustainability orsocial transformation?
- How can public interests be safeguarded by private actors and in public-private partnerships in the face of contemporary societal challenges such as globalisation, digitisation and privatisation and crises like those of the environment and public health?
Zgłoszenia (abstrakt do 500 słów wraz z krótkim CV) należy przesyłać do 19 kwietnia br.
Planowana jest publikacja pokonferencyjna.

2. Call for Ideas: International Law and Agent-based Modeling
Twórcy projektu Human Rights Nudge, części Social Simulation Fest of the European Social Simulation Association, zapraszają do przesyłania propozycji zagadnień badawczych, które mogą być przedmiotem analizy w projekcie.

Osoby zainteresowane powinny przesłać propozycję zagadnienia badawczego (do 500 słów) do 21 marca.
3. Call for papers: 11th Conference of the Postgraduate and Early Professionals/Academics Network of the Society of International Economic Law (czerwiec 2022 r.)
W dniach 8-10 czerwca br. w formie hybrydowej odbędzie się 11th Conference of the Postgraduate and Early Professionals/Academics Network of the Society of International Economic Law.
Wystąpienia mogą dotyczyć m.in. następujących tematów:
- law, practice, and theory of international economic governance and international organisations;
- international trade, investment, competition, financial and monetary law and policy, including all methods of dispute settlement;
- the interaction of IEL with other branches of law: intellectual property, human rights, environment, sustainable development, food and public health;
- new approaches to the philosophy, sociology and politics of IEL;
- new developments in IEL, including the impact of Brexit, COVID-19 and cryptocurrencies; and
- regional perspectives on IEL, including Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL).
Zgłoszenia (abstrakt do 400 słów i biogram do 300 słów) należy przesyłać do 15 marca.
Opłata konferencyjna wynosi 60 funtów (dla osób, które nie są członkami SIEL)/ 40 funtów (dla członków SIEL).
Można ubiegać się o stypendia, które sfinansują udział w konferencji.

W dniach 9-10 czerwca br. we Florencji odbędzie się konferencja „Surveillance, Democracy, and the Rule of Law”.
Wystąpienia mogą dotyczyć następujących tematów:
- Democracy and the Rule of Law in the Age of Surveillance: Challenges and Alternative Possibilities
- Automation, Surveillance, and Democracy: A Journey Through Time
- (Re)imagining Rights and Legal Remedies
